Skills Course Outline Course Description:
Technology Skills will include presentations, word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, technology information
and terminology, movie editing, and various multimedia and Internet search strategies. Students will produce documents, short
videos and presentations. Technology Skills will provide the foundation for using computers at the high
school. Teachers:

Skills: Using a Digital Camera, Adding Sound, Text, and Video PowerPoint 2007 Skills: Transitions,
Animations, Video, Graphics, Hyperlinks, Rehearse Timings, Action Buttons, Video Technology Information Terms, Peripherals, Operating
Systems, History, Software, Hardware Expectations: - Attendance – Be in the computer lab on time and ready to learn every day.
- Assignments – Do your own work. To receive credit, your name must be on each assignment.
Assignments are due in class the day they are assigned. If you do not have enough time, it is your
responsibility to make arrangements with the instructor before you leave class.
- Make-up
work – This is as outlined in the handbook. Due date for long-term assignments will NOT CHANGE because
of absences.
- Late work – This is as outlined in the handbook. Two
failed tests may be retaken to earn a passing grade.
- Respect – each other, your
property, others’ property, and the equipment.
- Attitude – Be positive!
Sit up straight and pay attention. Work hard to improve your skills. Your work ethic is important
for you to be the best you can be.
- Organization – Restroom and locker passes will
be given only in emergency situations. Bring your agenda with you in case you need a pass.
- Behavior:
Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, such as: Instant Messaging, Cell
Phones, Inappropriate Language, Inappropriate Web Sites, Games, etc.
Grading Procedure: Quizzes/Tests
60% Daily work
40% At the end of the semester
of block classes, a final exam will be included as 15% of the final grade. Grading Scale Percentages:
93-100
A 90-92
A- 87-89
B+ 83-86
B 80-82
B- 77-79
C+ 73-76
C 70-72
C- 67-69
D+ 63-66
D 60-62
D- Below
